Calcium + Vitamin D3 is a nutritional supplement used primarily to treat low blood calcium levels. It effectively addresses various conditions caused by low calcium levels, such as Vitamin D deficiency, osteoporosis, hypoparathyroidism, latent tetany, and rickets or osteomalacia.
This supplement contains two medicines: Calcium and Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol). Calcium prevents or treats calcium deficiency and supports bone formation and maintenance, while Vitamin D3 maintains blood calcium and phosphorus levels and aids bone mineralization.
Dosage is determined by your medical condition, and the supplement is generally safe to use. Common side effects like constipation and stomach upset may occur but usually resolve over time and do not require medical attention.
Inform your doctor if you are allergic to Calcium + Vitamin D3, have hypercalcemia, hypervitaminosis D, heart/kidney/liver/blood vessel diseases, kidney stones, or malabsorption syndrome before starting treatment. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use, and the supplement should be used in children only under medical guidance.
Drinking alcohol may impact calcium absorption, so it's advisable to limit or avoid alcohol while using Biocal-D.
Consult your doctor if pregnant to assess the potential risks and benefits of Biocal-D.
Consult your doctor before using Biocal-D while breastfeeding to evaluate potential risks and benefits.
Biocal-D typically does not affect driving ability.
Seek medical advice before using Biocal-D if you have kidney conditions such as kidney stones or are undergoing dialysis.
Inform your doctor of any history of liver diseases before taking Biocal-D as hepatic impairment can affect its activity.
Biocal-D treats low blood calcium levels and related conditions like Vitamin D deficiency, osteoporosis, and osteomalacia. It contains Calcium for bone formation and Vitamin D3 for calcium absorption and bone health.
Biocal-D Tablet is generally well tolerated, but if symptoms like nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, dry mouth, increased thirst, and increased urination occur, they should be reported to a physician. Constipation may also occur.
This combination is used for the treatment of osteoporosis, osteomalacia, rickets, tetany, and parathyroid disease. It is also utilized as a calcium supplement to ensure adequate dietary intake in conditions such as pregnancy and lactation, osteogenesis and tooth formation (as an adjunct with definite treatment), therapy with anti-seizure medications, and as a routine supplement and phosphate binder in chronic renal failure.
Biocal-D Tablet contains Calcium Carbonate and Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol). Calcium is essential for many normal functions of the body, especially bone formation and maintenance, while Vitamin D3 aids in the absorption and reabsorption of Calcium and stimulates bone formation. Clinical studies have shown that the combination of Calcium and Vitamin D3 helps in bone growth and in the prevention of osteoporosis and bone fractures.
The usual adult dose is 1 tablet in the morning and 1 tablet at night, taken orally.
Biocal-D Tablet may interact with calcium, aluminum, or magnesium-containing antacids and other calcium supplements, calcitriol, and other vitamin D3 supplements, as well as with digoxin, tetracycline, doxycycline, minocycline, or oxytetracycline.
It is contraindicated in cases of hypercalcemia, hyperthyroidism, renal calculi and nephrolithiasis, and Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome.
This combination should be used as directed by a physician during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
Precautions should be taken in individuals with pre-existing heart disease or kidney disease.
Store in a dry place away from light and heat, and keep out of the reach of children.
